Patience and Perseverance

Patience is one of the best attributes of man. However, in every day life we find very few people show patience when met with physical torture and some remain patient over passion and immoral tendencies.
Passions and Immoral tendencies have a Satanic force in it. Many people drift towards them. The Slip proves costly. Those who are engulfed in such sinful deeds do not think of its consequences. Patience and bearing hardship can make a true believer to lose his patience. In the Holy Qur'an Allah The Almighty says, "Assuredly you will be tried in your property and in your persons, and you will hear much wrong from those who were given the Scripture beforce you, and from the idolaters. But if you persevere and ward off (evil), then that is of the steadfast heart of things." (03:186)
Hazrat Ibn Mas'ood (RadiAllahu 'anhu) reported Rasulullah ﷺ as saying, "Patience is half of faith." (Mishkaat Shareef)
Peace of mind and charm of life is destroyed by importance. Pain and sorrow go hand in hand with impatience. A shadow goes away in darkness but impatience, pain and sorrow never part with one another. Life is full of ups and downs. Sometimes your friends and relatives are unable to support you. Dejection and depression raise their heads and man becomes impatient. At such time and under such circumstances one should put rein of patience over one's thoughts, feelings and emotions. That way one may be able to establish and mantain good relations.
